PARAGUAY SPAIN PREDICTION WINNER

Paraguay vs Spain predictions I am more than confidant that Spain will win 3-0.
Paraguay and Spain both advanced Tuesday to the quarterfinals of the World Cup football tournament in South Africa.Paraguay's football team defeated Japan 5-3 in a penalty shootout to reach the quarterfinal round for the first time in team history.
Oscar Cardozo hit the winning penalty shot Tuesday in Pretoria, after the match remained scoreless through regulation and 30 minutes of extra time.

No Asian country has ever beaten a South American team at the World Cup in 14 attempts.

In the final match of the second round, Spain defeated Portugal 1-0 to move on to the quarterfinals.

David Villa scored the only goal in Cape Town. The Barcelona star scored on his own rebound in the 63rd minute following a save by Portuguese keeper Eduardo. It was the striker's 4th goal of the tournament.

Portugal created several scoring opportunities in the 2nd half but was unable to score an equalizer.

The European champions will play Paraguay in the final-eight on Saturday.

The final of the 2010 FIFA World Cup is July 11 in Johannesbur

European champions Spain reached the World Cup quarter-finals on Tuesday with a 1-0 win over Portugal, sending Cristiano Ronaldo, the world's most expensive player, heading moodily to the exit.

Spain, for whom star striker Fernando Torres was again overshadowed by goal scorer David Villa, will tackle Paraguay in Johannesburg on Saturday for a semi-final spot after the South Americans defeated Japan 5-3 in a penalty shoot-out.

New Barcelona signing Villa scored his fourth goal of the World Cup in the 63rd minute of an absorbing Cape Town encounter that also saw Portugal's Ricardo Costa sent off.

"Fernando worked hard as we all have over the past month. The substitution was made because Torres had done a lot of running and we needed fresh legs," said Del Bosque.

"Llorente had a very good final half-hour. It wasn't a change of tactics. Llorente gave us vitality."

Ronaldo left the stadium refusing to talk to reporters.

"We marked Ronaldo well and neutralised his threat," said Del Bosque.

Portugal coach Carlos Queiroz admitted: "Spain had the better chances and deserved to win."

For Paraguay, it was fourth time lucky after last-16 exits in 1986, 1998 and 2002.

"Argentina still have a great chance, Brazil as always in the World Cup are getting better and we're also there trying to do things right," said Paraguay coach Gerardo Martino.

After a largely sterile and goalless 120 minutes at Loftus Versfeld stadium, the first five penalties went in before luckless Japan defender Yuichi Komano aimed too high and the ball struck the crossbar before flying over.

That left Paraguay two successful kicks away from glory and Nelson Valdez and extra-time substitute Oscar Cardozo calmly slotted their kicks past Eiji Kawashima.

Meanwhile, FIFA president Sepp Blatter, under pressure to rethink his opposition to goal-line technology and video replays, apologised to England and Mexico after referee blunders featured prominently in their last 16 defeats.

Blatter was reacting to a legitimate Frank Lampard goal that was disallowed at the crucial stage with England trailing Germany 2-1 on Sunday and pressing hard just before half-time.

Television replays showed the ball landing well over the line before it bounced back into the hands of Manuel Neuer, who cleared and the Uruguayan referee Jorge Larrionda waved play on with Germany finishing 4-1 victors.

A few hours later Carlos Tevez headed Argentina in front from an offside position en route to a 3-1 win over Mexico and the situation was inflamed by the crowd seeing a big-screen replay.

Blatter told a news conference that apologies to English and Mexican officials had been accepted and said the technology debate would reopen at a July 21-22 meeting in Cardiff.

He stressed that only goal-line technology would be discussed, and this would not have offered any assistance to Roberto Rosetti, the Italian referee of the Mexico match.

Neither Larrionda nor Rosetti were on the list of officials who are staying on for the quarter-finals that was released later by FIFA.

Referees defended themselves at an open training session north of Pretoria with spokesman Jose Maria Garcia Aranda labelling World Cup match officials "excellent".

"We have to look at 54 matches and the decisions the referees have made in them," he said, adding sarcastically, "apparently the referees took only four or five decisions in these 54 matches and all of them were controversial."

ARGENTINA GERMANY PREDICTION WINNER

Argentina vs Germany Predictions Argentina 3-1 over Germs What are your predictions for the Argentina vs. Germany game?
Who do you think will win and why?I'm rooting for Germany ! Germany 6 - Argentina 1Argentina has no defense and one of the worst goal keepers in the competition. They have been lucky to be on attack all matches. Argentina has won with great defense in the past. They simply have no D. It's the same problem as Holland has.
Thanks for your opinion.
Although I don't think that Argentina has a horrible goalkeeper, I do agree that they have to work on their defense.

GO GO GO GERMANY !

Germany will host Argentina in a friendly match at Munich on Wednesday, March 3, 2010. The match will be a chance for both sides get practice ahead of the World Cup Finals at South Africa in June.

Prediction and TV Listings

Germany v Argentina, 19:45 – Germany wins 2-1 – GolTV (USA), Orange Sport (France), Al Jazeera Sport (Middle East)

Preview

Both teams have qualified for the 2010 World Cup but did so in very different ways. The Germans were first in their group and qualified before the final matchday while Argentina struggled to finish 4th in the CONMEBOL table. Germany had a 8-2-0 record in qualifying and an impressive +21 goal difference.

Argentina had a widely publicized struggle to qualify and numerous rumors that Maradona would be sacked. Eventually they ended up qualifying 4th in the CONMEBOL region. Germany is led by captain Michael Ballack, strikers Lukas Pudolski and Miroslav Klose, and midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger. The Argentine’s have the player of the year Lionel Messi, strikers Gonzalo Higuain and Carlos Tevez, and veteran Juan Sebastian Veron.

The two teams have had success in the World Cup throughout the years and will both be expected to reach at least the round of 16. Argentina is very talented but has consistently underachieved while Germany has a solid, consistent team. Maradona will probably be animated as usual but Argentina have been to unpredictable to expect a win on Wednesday.

Argentina need to play all-out attack. play to their strengths and forget about the fact their GK and FBs are rubbish.
Stick Messi, Aguero and Higuain up front, and play at least one midfielders who can link the play to them and just go for it.
Fortune favours the brave and all that.

something like this:
......Masca
....Lucho...banega
.......messi
...Agureo...higuain

it's the only chance they got.
if diego stick to a 4-4-2 and keeps picking shit like gago and jonas then they will play deep and get destroyed, not even getting out of their group.

NETHERLANDS BRAZIL PREDICTION WINNER

Netherlands Brazil Prediction Winner I would say Brazil, hate for them to win but they are stronger. Lets Hope NEDs can beat them This one is probably going to come down to mistakes and hopefully not questionable calls. It’s no secret the officiating has been horrible in this tournament and let’s just pray that the players decide it, not the referees. With that being said, I think the team to score first is going to put themselves in a very good position to win. Both teams have the defense to back and not having to invest so many players forward in pursuit of a goal to catch up will obviously play to ones advantage. I really can’t pick a team to win this and think it may very well come down to penalties. If it does, I am even more clueless as to who will win. I’m going with Brazil just because I know they will find a way to score which means the pressure is on Robben, Sneijder, and Van Persie to make something happen.
Pick:

Brazil 1 – 1 Netherlands (Brazil 5 – 3 pen. Netherlands)

The World Cup quarterfinals get underway this Friday when perhaps the two hottest teams in this year’s tournament square off in Brazil and the Netherlands. Both have preformed pretty much exactly as most expected and it’s almost a shame that these potential finalists have to take each other on earlier than the semifinals. Arjen Robben is back to form as he had a beautiful netter to led the Oranje to victory on Monday against Slovakia while Brazil seems to be really hitting their stride at the right time as they absolutely dominated South American rivals Chile. Unfortunately for us, the fans, we will have to say goodbye to one of the tournament’s best teams but such is the World Cup and only one can move on to see another day. Get ready for some fútbol.

Brazil:

The Selecao came out firing on all cylinders Monday evening as they easily defeated Chile 3-0 at Ellis Park. They worked together like a well oiled machine and with a little bit of the signature individual brilliance thrown into the mix, they looked like they may not stop doing the samba until 2014. Left central defender Juán opened up the scoring in the 35th with a spot on header off a corner kick and they quickly followed with another in the 38th as Luis Fabiano finished a beautiful touch pass from Kaká. Robinho finished the scoring in the second half with a beautiful one timer off the inside of the right post from Ramires in the 59th. Here’s the thing about Brazil that must scare teams half to death. Every one of their players on the pitch from of course Robinho, Kaká, and Fabiano in the front to Lucio, Bastos, Juán, and Maicon in the back is more than capable and possesses the skill to do things that many other forwards in the world cannot. Maicon and Bastos’ abilities in particular to push the ball forward and rip shots from outside is a skill that no other team possesses. Sure, plenty of teams have their defenders coming up to have a shot here and there but none actually pose the threat that these 2 do. Another thing that can’t go overlooked is that, despite allowing 2 goals, Julio Cesar has been a rock in the back. The only team I see competing with the Brazilians is Argentina and maybe (just maybe…) Spain. It will be exciting to see but we certainly have a long way to go.

Netherlands:

While much of the talk this tournament has been about Brazil, Argentina, and England (not for the right reasons), Netherlands has managed to once again fly under the radar and cruise easily into the quarterfinals. Must we not forget they are the only team other than Argentina that has won all of their matches outright and what should be noted is that they have done it mostly without their best player in Arjen Robben. The star Bayern Munich magician made his highly anticipated return Monday in Holland’s 2-1 win over Slovakia in which he opened up the scoring with a beautiful run and finished with an equally beautiful 20 yard strike. Him combined with the likes of Wesley Sneijder and Robin Van Persie make up arguably one of the most dangerous attacking forces in the World Cup. I’ve been truly impressed with their ability to retain possession and pass the ball much like Spain and Barcelona. It’s a beautiful thing to watch when the Oranje have things clicking.
